Beetroots: Average Wholesale Prices and Price Corridors (Average Minimum and Maximum) in Russia, Weekly

The chart below displays average wholesale prices and price corridors for beetroots in Russia in RUB/kg, excluding VAT. The average minimum and maximum are calculated based on the 25% of offers with the lowest and highest prices, respectively, excluding outliers.

The data reflect pricing for a purchase volume of 20 tons, whereas large-wholesale transaction prices can be significantly lower.

The sample is primarily based on ex-works prices from Russian beetroot producers, alongside offers from trading companies. The data exclude statistics for the Far Eastern FD. The statistics also incorporate import data; however, due to marginal import volumes, its overall impact on average prices remains negligible.

A more noticeable shift occurs from April to July, driven by the arrival of early-season, new-crop beetroots from Uzbekistan. Although their market share does not exceed 5%, these imports command prices two to three times higher than those of the remaining domestic old-crop supply during this period.
