Pears: Average Wholesale Prices in Russia, Weekly

The chart below displays average wholesale prices for pears in Russia in RUB/kg, excluding VAT. The data reflect pricing for a purchase volume of 20 tons, whereas large-wholesale transaction prices can be significantly lower.

The Russian pear market is primarily shaped by imported products. Commercial pear production in Russia remains at low levels and impacts the market only during the harvest season (August–November).

While harvests in rural households are substantial, this produce also affects the market only during the harvest season. It is mainly grown for personal consumption; if sold, it is strictly at local markets and fairs, is not placed into long-term storage, and does not enter federal retail chains.

To recall, in 2025, Russia’s total pear harvest across all farm categories amounted to 313.6 thousand tons, according to Rosstat. Of this volume, the commercial horticulture sector accounted for a mere 6.0 thousand tons, while the remaining 307.6 thousand tons came from rural households. Meanwhile, AB-Center estimates that pear imports into Russia exceeded 160.0 thousand tons in 2025.
